Thousand BJP functionaries resign en masse

UNI

Surat: Up in the arms against the party serving notices on senior leaders Mr Keshubhai Patel and Mr Kashiram Rana, more than thousand BJP functionaries, including corporators and ex-mayors, resigned en masse from the party.

More than 1500 party workers and 20 former corporators, including past mayors Mr Fakirchand Chauhan, Mr Arvind Rana and Mr Ranjith Chamna, resigned at a meeting organised here yesterday by the Sardar Patel Utkarsh Samiti.

Reacting on the matter, Mr Fakirchand said Mr Narendra Modi was working as a ''dictator'' in the party and he had not done anything for the development of the state. Even if the party wins, they were going to revolt against Mr Modi.

Meanwhile, the party has already suspended Mr Fakirchand and Mr Jivraj Darukawala.
