Three ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Poonch in less than 24 hours

Srinagar: There is no end to ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control. There have been three separate incidents of Pakistani firing in Poonch in Kashmir in less than 24 hours. Defence Minister AK Antony is likely to make a statement in Parliament.

The Indian Army is on heightened vigil, dealing with several infiltration attempts by terrorists. On the night of August 16 in Poonch, the Army soldiers thwarted an infiltration bid, when the movement of two terrorists was picked up by thermal imagers and night detection apparatus.

Early on Sunday morning in Keran, Kupwara, the Army foiled yet another infiltration bid, exchanging fire for almost 30 minutes before driving the terrorists back to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

With the Army suggesting that Pakistan is activating its Boarder Action Team, tensions are set to mount in the coming days.
