Three die in hit-and-run case in Delhi

New Delhi: In a hit-and-run case in the Capital, three people were killed when a red Hyundai crashed into two autoricksaws early on Saturday morning.

The accident takes place just two days after an inebriated accountant mowed down three people in north-west Delhi.

The speeding Hyundai Verna crashed into two autorickshaws killing three drivers on the spot.

"Both the auto drivers were inspecting the damage done to the auto standing there already when a car came and hit them from the back," said an eyewitness.

The occupants of the car immediately fled from the spot. Officials say, that all three including two men and one woman are in the age-group of 25 to 30.

"It's very difficult to say how they escaped. We are still trying to find out," said DCP south Delhi, HGS Dhaliwal.

The relatives of the victims say the deaths could have been prevented if the help had reached in time.

"An eyewitness told me that the victims suffered for a long time before dying and no one came to save them," said a victim's relative.

The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving, but officials refuse to reveal the identity of the accused.
