Three held for molesting and blackmailing girl

Three men were arrested on Thursday for molesting a girl and later blackmailing her using the video clips of the incident. The arrested were identified as Sibin, 25, of Paravoor, Sherin, 33, of Munambam, and Rajesh alias Kuttan Mani, 33, of Pattanam. According to the police, Sibin had promised to marry the 22-year-old girl two years

back and later molested her. He had also secretly filmed the incident. Later, using the video clips, the other accused threatened the victim and molested her several times. A sum of Rs 25,000 and 15 sovereigns of gold were obtained through blackmailing. It was when the accused threatened to upload the clips on the internet that the girl informed her parents, who then lodged a complaint with the Paravoor police. During interrogation, Sibin submitted that he was already married. The arrested were produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court and were remanded in judicial custody.
