'Thuppaki' to hit theatres on Diwali

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's action thriller, 'Thuppaki' has now been confirmed as a Diwali release. Kalaipuli S Thanu says, "Padam kandippa Diwali release..." While the talkie portions have been wrapped three songs are remaining to be shot.

Audio is touted to release after August 15.

Starring Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles, the film by AR Murugadoss has music by Harris Jayaraj. Comic relief is by Sathyan and cinematography by ace Santosh Sivan.

Vijay\'s action thriller, \'Thuppaki\' has now been confirmed as a Diwali release by Kalaipuli S Thanu.

Vijay reportedly plays a cop in this action packed thriller that has few scenes shot in live locations in Mumbai using hidden cameras.

Last year, Vijay's Velayudham saw a massive opening and is one of his biggest hits so far. We'll have to wait to see if Vijay's this year Diwali release, which is a complete contrast to Velayudham, considering his suave avatar in Thuppaki, will surpass the earlier one's records or not.
