New Delhi: After saying that she was keen to contest the elections from North West Mumbai on a Congress ticket, actress Nagma has now said that she would support anyone who contests on a Congress ticket from the constituency.
“I can’t say for certain whether I would contest or I would campaign, though I wished to contest. Congress ticket can be given only to one person. We will support anyone contesting on Congress ticket,” the actor said.
The Bhojpuri film-star had last week said she was keen to contest the Lok Sabha elections from North-West Mumbai.
Nagma is popular among Bhojpuri-speaking north Indians who form a huge chunk of this constituency.
Nagma had earlier met the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress screening committee chief Mallikarjun Kharage in New Delhi in the presence of other members to convince them of her candidature.
