New Delhi: Monday night had the dancefloor on fire. Television actors Tina and Hussain won Star One's Nach Baliye 2 dance competition, beating Gouri and Yash Tonk by a margin of four lakh audience votes.
The couple walked away with a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh. In the final round, they enthralled the audience with a solo dance round and a jugalbandi.
"I would like to thank STAR One for such a lovely first wedding gift," Tina said after winning the prize.
The couple will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on Thursday.
Hussain lauded the efforts of his choreographers Harshad and Vithal.
“I must thank them for this trophy. I will always cherish and relish the lovely memories of Nach Baliye," Hussain said.
The choreographers were awarded Rs 1o lakh.
The grand finale also had the other eight couples come back on the show, and perform as well.
Tanaz and Bhaktiyar, Narayani and Gaurav and Ketki and Rasik won the Dumdaar, Majedaar and Jodidaar categories respectively.
However, the icing on the cake was the surprise performances from judges Malaika Arora and Saroj Khan.
Malaika performed to the song Yeh Mera Dil from Don dedicated it to the dancing diva of yesteryears, Helen.
“Helen aunty is an ultimate screen goddess for me and this is my tribute to her,” she said.
Saroj Khan with her performance on Mann saat smaundar dol gaya from the film Chameli, left the audience gasping for more.
