Tiny tots battle Ganguly report

New Delhi: The Nursery school admission mess just doesn't seems to get over. According to the Supreme Court ruling, the deadline for submitting application forms for nursery admissions was December 20 but most schools in the Capital have not even started the admission process as yet.

Meanwhile parents are left in a tight spot with their tiny tots. “We started preparing our daughter for the interview when since she was just 15-months old,” says Vineeta Tevatya as her three-year old daughter Michelle sings nursery rhymes she has crammed up for almost half her life.

Michelle's parents say their immediate challenge is to figure out the admission procedure. “Till date most good schools haven't even started their admissions. Are we forced to put our kid into a school, which is close to our home?” Michelle’s father Anoj Tevatya says.

In fact schools like Vasant Valley and Shri Ram School have approached the Apex Court challenging the Ganguly report.

“The Court this year said, lets try the recommendations for this year. But I want to ask how can the SC keep something so crucial on a trial basis. We've filed our objections to and our petition will be heard on Jan 17,” says Principal Vasant Valley School Arun Kapoor.

While some Delhi schools have decided to wait for the Supreme Court's ruling, there are others who have already finished the application process. And caught in the middle of all this confusion are parents who are still in the dark.
