hyderabad: The richest Temple board of the country Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams just got richer. It has recorded its highest Hundi (offering box) collection ever on a single day of Rs 5.73 crores on Sunday, April 1.
Its previous record was Rs 4.2 crore collected on January 1, 2012.
Temple officials say while they did have a pilgrim rush of about 70,000 on Sunday, the fact that one of the devotees offered a donation of Rs 2 crore helped surpass their previous record.
