Tirupati: Lalith Raju (14), studying in 8th standard in a private school in the town, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room on Monday. The MR Palle police said, Lalith Raju from Adoni of Kurnool district studying at Sri Chaitanya Children's Academy on the AIR bypass road in the town was staying in the school hostel. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room.
After inquiring the relatives of the boy as well as some of his school friends, police concluded that homesickness had driven the student to take the extreme step. His friends said that Raju had expressed his unwillingness to continue his studies in Tirupati.
Meanwhile, following the suicide the Tirupati branch of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a protest Constable run over by car.
