Tirupati: The fire near the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh has been brought under control but has not yet been doused. Two Indian Air Force helicopters have now been deployed to help put out the fire.
Each of the two helicopters has the capacity to carry 4,000 litres of water. They have already carried out four sorties.
The Air Force has also deployed two aircraft to carry out a recce of the affected forest area as the fire continues for the third day on Friday. The Army has also deployed around 150 personnel from Chennai to assist operations.
