New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday threw an open challenge to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking that he resign first before accepting the resignations of TMC ministers on Friday.
TMC member Kunal Ghosh tweeted saying party chief Mamata Banerjee was that "tigress of India" who had proven that she was with the people of the country and would remain so.
She is the "one and only voice of aam aadmi in the country", he tweeted.
Ghosh continued, "Before accepting the resignation of the TMC ministers, the PM should step down and go for a fresh mandate on whether the country permits his policies or not."
"The Congress should remember that it is not their private government. They have no moral right to continue with the policies," Ghosh added.
