New Delhi: A member of parliament from the Jadavpur constituency in West Bengal, Kabir Suman has shown his faith in Sonali Mukherjee via a song. Twenty seven-year-old Sonali Mukherjee was attacked with acid in 2003 after she objected to the advances of three men in Dhanbad.
Dhanbad, Jharkhand, was Sonali's hometown where in April, 2003, three neighbouring youth poured acid on her while she slept because she dared to raise a voice against their eve teasing.
The song wants to convey Sonali that, "I've heard that you are a dazzling beauty, even if acid burnt You haven't accepted defeat Sonali, this song is a bouquet for you."
The contemporary Bengali music has been influenced by Kabir Suman in more than one way. His latest album is 'Lalmohaner Laash', which came in 2010.
