Sankarankoil: Ruling AIADMK's S Muthuselvi was leading by 3583 votes after the first round of counting was over in the Sankarankoil (SC) assembly bypoll in Tamil Nadu this morning.
DMK's Jawahar Suryakumar was in the second spot with 1917 votes followed by the MDMK and DMDK who polled 1184 and 798 votes, official sources said.
The bypoll was necessitated due to the death of AIADMK minister C Karuppasamy in October last.
