New Delhi: The Tamil Nadu Vigilance Department conducted raids on former DMK minister Durai Murugan properties on Thursday morning. Murugan was the Law minister during the DMK regime.

Sources say the vigilance department raided nine of his properties in Chennai, Vellore and Kancheepuram.

Murugan is the eight DMK leader to be raided since July.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption in October, conducted searches at the residence of DMK leader and former minister Suresh Rajan in Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.

Six places in Kanyakumari district and one in Tirunelveli came under the vigilance scanner, sources said.

Vigilance officials had earlier conducted raids at the premises of K Ponmudi, Veerapandi S Arumugam, KN Nehru, NKKP Raja and MRK Paannerselvam following complaints of land grabbing.
