Chennai: In a major bureaucratic shake-up, the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday effected several secretary-level transfers, including posting new principal and joint secretaries to the Industries department. Vikram Kapur, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, will be new Industries Principal Secretary, while N Mathivanan, MD of Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation Ltd, has been posted as Joint Secretary, Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi said in a statement.
A former Madurai District Collector, Mathivannan was booked recently by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in connection with the multi-crore granite scam in the district. Principal Secretary for Health and Family Welfare, Girija Vaidyanathan, was transferred and her services were placed at the disposal of Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation as its Principal Secretary/CMD, vice Ramesh Kumar Khanna, holding additional charges, Sarangi said.
Dr P Senthil Kumar and Dr J Radhakrishnan have been posted as Special Secretary and Secretary, respectively, Department of Health and Family Welfare. Many other officials were also transferred.
