New Delhi: Athletes have already started to confirm their participation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

But one of India's top archer doesn't even know if he can participate in the Games.

Chinna Raju Srither, a national archery champion, lacks one integral component that could take his talent to the next level, something that would help him convert the great promise he has into medals.

"I want to win a medal in the upcoming Commonwealth Games and I want to be in the first place even outside the country. But for that I don't have the money to buy equipment. I want the Government of India, the Sports Association of India or the state government to help me. It'll be very good for my sport and this is my hope," says Chinna Raju Srither.

Serving the Indian Army, Srither just about manages to practice with the equipment provided by the force, which not enough for him.

"Srither is remarkably talented and I think he is going to create records in the world archery field. All that I want on behalf of him that the government must give him the right kind of equipment," says archery trainer Shihan Hussaini.

Whether Srither hits the bulls-eye or not will surely depend on the support he gets as he tries to overcome this crippling crunch that has taken out so many talents from Indian sport into oblivion.
