Dr Rajakumar award to RN Sudarshan, Puttanna Kanagal to CV Shivashanker, Dr Vishnuvardhana award for producer Ankalagi, best actor award posthumously to Dr Vishnuvardhana received by Dr Bharathi Vishnuvrdhana, best actress award to Anu Prabhakar and 20 other awards plus the national award winning films ‘Kanasemba Kudureyaneri’, ‘Bettada Jeeva’, ‘Hejjegalu’ and ‘Puttakkana Highway’ were given away by the Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda in the presence of Home and Transport Minister R Ashok, former Minister Roshan Baig of Congress, Thara Anuradha, Chair Person of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, government officials Basavaraju secretary of Kannada and culture and Information director Bevinamardha.

The Chief Minister in his speech recalled the benefits extended to the Kannada cinema industry and on the new demand of subsidy of Rs10 lakhs to 100 Kannada films annually will be discussed, he stated.

Tippu alias LN Ekambareshwara from Chennai a popular playback singer in South Indian films came to receive the best playback singer award for his song Hay Paaru Hele Paaru....for the film 'Raj the Showman'. Tippu sang this for power star Puneeth Rajakumar in V Harikrishna’s music direction.

Kannada film indusry witnessed a grand state awards ceremony which was hugely participated by the top ministers.

Nadageethe from Samarthana Blind inmates, Kalabaireshwara Bharathanatyam from Bhavana and team, Kannada Jeevaswara a documentary by Ajay Kumar that lacked standard on state culture and tradition, dance for Dr Rajakumar films songs by Ajith and Roopika were part of the state award event before the presentation of awards.
