Thiruvananthapuram: Monitoring panel for road work

Thiruvananthapuram: PWD Minister Ebrahim Kunju said in Assembly here on Monday that a monitoring committee would be constituted to oversee the weekly progress of the Rs 145-crore road development project along the Vattiyoorkavu-Sasthamangalam, Vattiyoorkavu-Peroorkada and Vattiyoorkavu- Vazhayila roads.

Replying to a submission by K Muraleedharan MLA, on the status of the Vattiyoorkavu road development project, Ebrahim Kunju said that Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA) has been asked to submit a detailed project report on the Rs 145-crore road development project.

“Sanction has been already accorded for the project and it would be implemented under the Thiruvananthapuram City Road Development project,” he said. Ebrahim Kunju said that the PWD executive engineer would function as the coordinator of the monitoring committee, which would, every week, keep tabs on the road development.

PWD Minister Ebrahim Kunju said that a monitoring committee would be constituted to monitor the road projects.

“An additional Rs 9.65 crore has been allotted for land acquisition and the State Government wants a speedy implementation of the project,” he added.
