Train driver braves fog, proceeds

Narendra Nag, CNN-IBN

New Delhi: Delhi is still fogged out and thousands of flights have been delayed and passengers have been stranded. Many trains have been cancelled and delayed as well.

But what is it like to manoeuvre a train through such poor visibility?

CNN-IBN's Narendra Nag spoke to one of the drivers, Meena of Rajdhani Express, traveling to Ahmedabad.

Narendra Nag: Could you tell how cold is it going to before the train reaches Ahmedabad?

Meena: Yes, it is going to take some time as it is very cold and foggy during this time of the year. It becomes difficult for us to drive the engine. We can neither see the signal or anything.

Narendra Nag: Is the delay due to the fact that you have to be very careful and drive the engine slowly?

Meena: Yes, we have to be very careful.

Narendra Nag: With all the windows open, how do you keep yourselves warm?

Meena: No, we never shut the windows. We only keep them shut during the monsoons

So have you realised what makes you travel in the comfort of your AC cabin without worry?

It is because of people like Meena, who in the cold, make sure that you reach your destination.
