Trial in Aarushi-Hemraj case adjourned till June 8

New Delhi: The trial in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case has been adjourned till June 8. The case was adjourned due to the death of a member of Ghaziabad Bar Association.

Aarushi's parents, Nupur and Rajesh, have been charged with murder and destruction of evidence. Apart from this Rajesh Talwar has been charged with misleading the probe.

Nupur Talwar's bail plea was rejected by the Allahabad High Court last week, while Rajesh's plea is still pending. The Supreme Court has reserved order on the review petition filed by Nupur Talwar in the case. She is currently lodged in the Dasna Jail.

The case was adjourned due to the death of a member of Ghaziabad Bar Association.

The CBI claimed the Talwars' maid, the guard and driver corroborate their 'last scene theory' according to which there were four people living in the house - Rajesh Talwar, Nupur Talwar, Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj - and there was no sign of a fifth person's entry at the time of the murders. "Four people were there, two died and two were left. When a murder takes place in a closed house and two are dead, then the onus shifts on those who are alive," the CBI had argued.

The CBI also claimED that Aarushi and Hemraj's injuries were identical. "The golf stick recovered from the house matches the injury. The Talwars refused to identify Hemraj's body and gave false information regarding the crime scene," according to the CBI.

Aarushi was found murdered in her Jalvayu Vihar residence in Noida on May 16, 2008. The body of Hemraj, who was initially suspected to have killed the teenager, was found on the terrace of Talwar's home on May 17.
