Nandigram: A Trinamool Congress worker has been shot at in Gokul Nagar locality of Nandigram.
Unidentified assailants attacked the TMC worker on Sunday. The worker received bullet injuries on his left shoulder and is admitted in a hospital in Nandigram.
This incident could add to the tension already prevalent in Singur, where the Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee has been spearheading the farmers' agitation.
Mamata and her supporters have been demonstrating before the Tata Nano factory site.
She has rejected the West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's latest 70-acre offer to the displaced farmers.
Mamata has been demanding the return of 300 acres from within the Nano complex and another 100 acres from outside the factory premises for displaced farmers who did not accept state compensation.
The CPI government in West Bengal now fears that Tata Motors may pull-out completely in the face of the agitation.
