Kolkata: Exuding confidence that her Trinamool Congress would emerge as a formidable force in national politics, party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said no other government has carried out so much development as her regime in its first 15 months in power.
Banerjee, who was addressing the maiden convention of her party's youth arm - Trinamool Yuva - said her party has never veered away from its commitment to the people.
"Those who underestimate the Trinamool Congress should bear in mind that the Trinamool Congress will be a force to reckon with at the all-India level," she said.
The Trinamool chief called upon the Yuva representatives to use logic and arguments to counter those who are misleading the people against the government on social media.
"Your most important task is to build the party's image. Please remember that no other government in the world has ushered in as much development as the Trinamool regime during the time we have been in power," she said.
Banerjee said her government has been in power for a little more than a year since the Left Front's long rule came to an end in the state. "People will not forgive those who are functioning as agents to bring the CPI-M (led Left Front) back to power".
Referring to corruption during the tenure of the Left Front, she said several documents pertaining to the previous regime were missing.
"Police complaints will be made and strong action taken when documents pertaining to the Left Front era are not available," she added.
