After graduating in film-making from FTII, and winning a national award for her first film, Rajashree had her stint in Bollywood and television production.
For obvious reasons, she left people little surprised when she came out with a novel instead of a script.
Or is it a good plan to sell a potential screenplay for her next film?
“I don't want to make it into a feature film myself, if someone else wants to do it, if I’ll feel that will take good care of my baby maybe I’ll let them,” she says.
Fraught with Hindi film twists and turns, its only natural one wouldn’t rate it original.
But only a month into its release, the book has sold 25,000 copies.
It's a romantic comedy, a lot of people like romantic comedies, its set in the Bombay film industry and it's a good read. Also its just for Rs 95 rupees,” she says.
