Mumbai: Private radio stations are already big a hit in the city but students of Mumbai University claim they are not far behind.
Students of this university can now tune in to their own community radio station. Known as 107.8 Radio Must, students claim this community radio will be different from the other stations.
“It’s by the students so there is a lot of imagination and creativity in the concept,” says a student, Siddharth Pradhan.
They claim they can cater to 20 lakh students in 400 colleges within a range of 15 kilometers.
With an interesting fare lined-up which will comprise of less gyaan and more infotainment, head of the FM Community Radio, Pankaj Athawle says, “We have unique shows like Paro and Devdas talking about AIDS.”
It is said that the students will handle all functions with the faculty members only setting the guidelines.
The launch of the station is scheduled for June this year and it looks like it’s going to be all about long working hours for these students trying to make a difference.
