Mumbai: After an eight day long blackout of all fresh content on Hindi General Entertainment Channels, the deadlock between the Producers' Associations and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has finally been resolved.
The demand for higher wages and better working conditions has been agreed upon and the new episodes of daily soaps will be on air as soon as the issues between producers and broadcasters are ironed out.
“There will be talk with the broadcasters, however, we are starting shooting from tomorrow we want to make our audiences happy,” says producer, J D Majethia.
It all started when seven main broadcasters decided not to run any fresh programming as a collective response to the inability to bear the increased costs due to higher wages being paid to TV workers and technicians, thrust upon them by producers. The channels asked the workers union to resolve their differences with TV producers associations.
“We have already signed a three year back MOU, now they are following that,” says President, Federation of Western India Cine Employees, Dharmesh Tewari.
And till the last hurdle of an agreement between broadcasters and producers is crossed there is no definite date on when the Hindi Entertainment Channels will start airing fresh programmes.
