New Delhi: Two Air Force officers have been booked in connection with the death of a civilian employee at the Adampur Airbase.
An FIR has been filed against a Wing commander and a Flight Lieutenant after the death of Sachin, who maintained the mess accounts.
Twenty-year-old Sachin was a class 4 employee and worked as a cook in the officers’ mess.
Sachin's relatives say he was summoned to the airbase on Friday evening and allege that he was beaten up after arguments over account discrepancies.
Air Force sources say, though, he was found dead after a party at the mess.
Police are unwilling to comment if Sachin's death is murder or suicide. They quoted Air Force sources as saying that Sachin's death could be due to heart failure and added that they did not torture him.
Acknowledging that Sachin died in mysterious circumstances, SSP Arpit Shukla said, “The body has been sent for post-mortem. An FIR has been registered and investigations are on.”
The police say no arrests have been made yet.
