New Delhi: Two Indians have been killed in Basra in Iraq after a suicide bomber blew himself up near their convoy.
Sureshan and Mohammed, both from Kerala, were working for Prolog Middle East, based in the Ras al Khaimah, UAE, and were heading towards Kuwait along the Iraq-Kuwait highway.
A Sri Lankan also died in the attack.
The Indian ambassador to Kuwait, M Ganapathy said he was waiting for further details.
"We are expecting to receive the bodies of the two Indians in Kuwait tomorrow," he told news agency PTI on Wednesday.
The Indian government has banned people from working in Iraq because of the instability and violence there.
