The fire started some time after midnight in the Shastri Nagar area of the city. The LPG tank of a truck went up in flames while it was being filled.
The explosion that followed killed one person instantly. The injured have been admitted in Sawai Man Singh hospital, and one of them is critically burned.
“We came to know that an LPG tank was leaking, it blast, and the explosion spread to the petrol pump nearby,” says a local resident.
Six fire tenders were deployed to the location and nearby residences were also vacated.
“There was a blast. We were at home, the fire almost reached our house. We ran out of the back, my car was burned,” says another local resident.
