New Delhi: The Crime Branch has arrested two more people in connection with the Delhi University admission racket. Both were employees of the SC/ST Cell of the Delhi University. They have been identified as Neeraj Sharma who is an office assistant and the other is Sanjeev Mahajan.

Sources say the two allegedly came in contact with a gang running an admission racket two months ago and used to speak to each other almost on a daily basis regarding admissions. The racket was being run by Himanshu Gupta who managed to get his brother and cousin admitted using fake caste certificates. Being in the SC/ST Cell, Sharma and Mahajan would help facilitate the submission of certificates, overlooking the fake signatures and forms.

Three people were earlier arrested on June 28 for selling fake caste certificates and helping at least 12 students get admission in top notch colleges. One of them is a student who scored 94 per cent and took the route to secure a seat at the prestigious Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) which had come out with a 100 per cent cut-off.

Gupta and his gang had managed to secure admission for 13 students in some of DU's top colleges, using forged caste certificates. The certificates were all issued from the office of the tehsildar in the capital's Mehrauli area.
