Bangalore: At least two people have died in Bangalore from dengue and nearly 40 cases of the deadly fever have been reported in the last two months -- out of which at least two to three cases are being reported everyday at the MS Ramaiah hospital.
Most of the afflicted are from Bangalore city itself. Doctors say the cases are not just being reported from the slum areas, but also from posh residential colonies.
Says Paediatrics Surgeon, MS Ramaiah hospital, Dr Karunakar, "Unfortunately, two people have died due to dengue fever. we currently have about 40 cases on hand."
The City Corporation has launched a drive to spray insecticide to destroy larva of mosquitoes that spread the disease and also fogging to destroy mosquitoes.
The authorities have requested the public to keep their premises clean and avoid fresh water logging.
They have also asked people to report cases of dengue fever to hospitals and to the Corporation.
