Mumbai: Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray underwent an angioplasty at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Friday. The doctors have called the surgery successful and are likely to discharge Uddhav on Sunday.
The 52-year-old leader Uddhav's angiography had revealed three blockages, one of the them said to be a major one. Estranged cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was also present by his side at the hospital sparking rumours of a truce between the warring relatives.
Uddhav had been admitted after complaining of chest pain on Monday. He later underwent an angiography and with the doctors advising immediate surgery. The doctors had briefed Uddhav's father Balasaheb Thackeray on Monday on his son's medical condition.
At the time of angiography, Uddhav's estranged cousin, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, had visited him at Lilavati and later drove him to Matoshree bungalow, the Thackeray family home in suburban Bandra.
