UK cops re-arrest husband for killing wife

London: A month after Geeta Aulakh's tragic death, police have re-arrested her husband Harpreet Aulakh, who was released on bail last month with 10 others.

The 28-year-old mother of two was found brutally murdered on November 16 with her right hand severed and body mutilated. Geeta's family is still trying to come to terms with their loss.

Geeta's father Lakhwinder Shinh said, “ham bahut dukhi hai…jo bhi Geeta ko jaanta tha, use dukh hai…ham yeh hi prathna karte hain..ki jisne yeh kiya hai, use pakda jaye taaki kuch insaaf mile, Geeta ke bachchon ko insaaf mile (We are utterly saddened by Geeta’s tragic end and we hope the culprits are brought to book and that justice may prevail for Geeta’s two children.)”

On the day of of her tragic death, Geeta had left her office at Sunrise Radio a little after 1800 hours (IST) on November 16. She walked with a colleague till the bus stop just around the corner from her office and took the bus, then took a bus to pick up her two boys from their child minders house. Half an hour later, she was found murdered.

An 18-year-old Indian national, Sher Singh is already in police custody after he was charged for the involvement in her murder.
