London: An Indian origin doctor in London went the Gandhian way to take on authorities at the Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge. He has claimed that they sacked him for blowing the whistle on healthcare malpractices in the UK. He carried out an unusual Gandhian outside the Department of Health in London, across from Downing Street.

Dr Narinder Kapur was sacked from Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge for blowing the whistle on malpractices at Britain's National Health Service. The top neurologist was later exonerated, but he was never reinstated.

Dr Kapur has gone on a five day hunger strike to protest against the unfair treatment. He says he was inspired by Gandhi's non-violent campaign against the British.
