HYDERABAD: Praveen Reddy Jangam, who is battling for life in the intensive care unit of London Royal Hospital after being stabbed eight times in a party brawl recently, regained consciousness a little on Sunday.
According to his brother Jayashanker Reddy, Praveen is slowly recognising family members but is unable to speak. He is so weak that doctors, who are closely monitoring his health, have turned down the request of the London metropolitan police, which is probing the stabbing, to question him. After a major surgery was performed on Praveen, doctors administered anaesthesia.
Ever since Praveen has been unconscious. ``Today he opened his eyes and looked at my father Sudhakar Reddy,’’ Jayashanker added.
The London police arrested three persons _ all of them from the city _ in connection with the stabbing of Praveen Reddy who completed MBA from the London Business School. There was a fight between Reddy and a few others at a party that led to his stabbing in his flat on Kent Street on the night of February 17. Sudhakar Reddy was issued an emergency visa by the UK embassy to be with his son. Praven Reddy’s family lives at Pragati Nagar near LB Nagar here.
