London: Britain's top Asian cop, Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur has settled his claim for race discrimination with Scotland Yard.
According to media reports, the 53-year-old officer will receive a £300,000 payout and his full pension entitlement. He had originally been seeking more than £1million.
In return Ghaffur has apparently agreed to 'soften' his allegations against the London's Metropolitan Police.
He had earlier accused his boss Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Chief Commissioner of racial discrimination and launched his legal claim in August this year.
However, his case has been severely undermined in the last few months after allegations of fraud were levelled against his solicitor, Shahrokh Mireskandari. Sir Blair has already resigned from the top job last month.
