New Delhi: Ousted BJP leader Uma Bharti has sounded the war cry again.
After her famous breakaway from the party and public condemnation of the top BJP brass, the fiery sanyasin has become a 'rally'-ing point for the dissidents in the party, quite literally.
On Tuesday, Uma will embark on yet another yatra, which she claims will be a wake up call for the senior BJP leadership.
"This is a wake up call for Atal ji and Advani ji. They did what they wanted to and now see what has happened to the party,” Uma said.
And this time, she will have more support from the other disgruntled leaders of the BJP.
Former Delhi chief minister and now-suspended party leader Madan Lal Khurana is likely to join the rally along with former party vice president Sanghpriya Gautam and former West Bengal BJP chief Tapan Sikdar.
The BJP on its part has already issued a stern warning and has made clear that any BJP leader who joins Uma will be doing so at the risk of being expelled from the party.
For Madan Lal Khurana however, Uma's rally is just the option he needs to resurrect his political career, even if it comes at the price of being expelled from the party.
Khurana had invited the party's wrath by declaring his plans to join Bharti's rally in New Delhi slated to be held on Tuesday. On Monday morning he joined her in offering prayers at the historic Sikh shrine Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in New Delhi and vowed to fight for their cause.
Maintaining that he will not join Bharti's proposed new party, Khurana said his decision to participate in her rally was to fight against the demolitions in Delhi.
"I will stand staunchly by the people of Delhi even if it means expulsion from the party or sacrificing my life," Khurana asserted.
