Jhalawar (Rajasthan): When the sanyasin walked the streets of Maharani's home turf, people poured out to look and listen.
While Uma Bharti began with saying that Vasundhara was like her sister, what followed was hardly a sister act.
She accused her former party colleague and Rajasthan Chief Minister of threatening people against joining her rallies.
"I want to tell that her loyalists cannot threaten the people. Rajasthan is not the personal kingdom of the Scindia royal family. They should not harbour any notions about that. We also believe in tit for tat," Uma said.
Hoping to poach the dissidents in the BJP, the National President of the Bharatiya Janshakti Party has strategically planned her tour from Jhalawar where Vasundhara has a record of never losing an election.
Uma accused the CM of carrying a feudal attitude and insensitivity towards people's concerns like drinking water and electricity shortage.
Though Vasundhara visited her constituency just before Uma's visit, the BJP says Uma's visit has had no impact.
"The party has stronghold there due to our workers and the Chief Minister. No one can intrude there," claimed Bhawani Singh Rajawat, Minister for Public Relations.
After Jhalawar, Uma's rallies in Kota and Baran districts over the next two days are an opportunity for Vasundhara's dissidents looking for new grounds.
The sanyasin's Rajasthan tour in the last leg of her Bharat Bachao Yatra may still alter a few equations within the BJP.
