UN Secy Gen begins India trip on Thursday

New Delhi: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in the Capital on Thursday for a visit during which he will meet Indian leaders besides attending a summit on sustainable development.

Ban will arrive from Pakistan and will be in India for a day.

The UN chief is expected to meet External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and discuss the regional situation with him.

It is not clear whether he will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is recuperating after a cardiac surgery.

He will also attend the Delhi Development Summit 2009 on Thursday.
