New Delhi: An unclaimed laptop bag found outside the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi Cantonment area on Monday led to a security scare. The Delhi Police and bomb disposal squad reached the spot after getting the alert and found that the black laptop bag contained a device with circuits.
The entire area was cordoned off and security beefed up in the city. A team of National Security Guards was been called in for investigation.
Army 202 Bomb Squad put the bag in a container used to defuse bombs and sent it to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory for further tests. Sources say that there was a loud noise from the defusion container.
The Forensic Sciences Laboratory is expected to take a few days to confirm the contents of the black laptop bag.
Meanwhile, another unclaimed bag on a motorcycle on Greater Kailash-I market of South Delhi also created panic. But the bag was found to belong to a man who had come to the market. Police gave the all-clear sign after checking the bag and questioning its owner.
Delhi has been under high security cover after the twin blasts in Hyderabad on February 21 in which at least 16 people were killed and 117 others injured.
