New Delhi: NASA and Speedo have joined hands to create a super slippery swimsuit that’s making waves for all the right or wrong reasons.
Thirty-six swimming world records shattered in just eight weeks. However, what is interesting is that every winner had this special swimsuit on.
Speedo claims its new suit makes every swimmer two per cent faster. However, rivals call the suits illegal and call it "technological doping".
Swimmers have all the reasons to be happy with this technological breakthrough.
“It is like a spacesuit. I mean you feel like you're getting shot up into space every time I push off the wall,” says US Gold Medalist, Athens Olympics, Michael Phelps.
Developed with help from NASA, the suit is made of neoprene and polyurethane. It claims to reduce skin and muscle vibrations and streamlines the swimmers path through water. With the suit cleared for use at the Olympics, it is about time to prepare for some blazingly fast times.
