Unni Mukundan bags lead role in Malayalam film 'Orissa'

After a promising commercial comeback with his recent hit 'Mallu Singh', Unni Mukundan is selecting his roles cautiously. His careful selections has helped him to land on fine projects, the latest being the movie 'Orissa'. The film is directed by M Padmakumar.

The movie will be a reality tale setup in the backdrop of Orissa, one of the economically backward state of India. It is a love story between an young Malayalee policeman and Oriyan girl. Where Malayalee boy seldom understands Oriya but Oriyan girl doesn't grasp a single word in Malayalam.

Written by famous scriptwriter, GS Anil of 'Vellaripravinte Changathi' fame, the film will have Unni Mukundan playing the role of Christhudas, a Malayalee policeman.

Directed by M Padmakumar,\'Orissa\' is a reality tale which is setup in the backdrops of Orissa.

This is the first time, Mollywood filmmakers are shifting to the locales of Orissa. The movie is expected to become a path breaking attempt by the crew who will be filming the reality accounts of the experiences in the state. The director and his crew was recently in the state to select the locations.

Apart from Nedumudi Venu, the movie will also feature Oriyan artists and Bollywood stars in its cast lines. Ratheesh Vegha is the music director of the movie, which will kick start its shoot by January at Cuttack and surrounding villages.
