Gorakhpur: In a tragic incident on Sunday, nearly 18 people were killed when two buses rammed into each other on a busy road in Gorakhpur. The mishap took place at Chiluwatal area, when a private bus and a state roadways bus collided into each other, injuring many.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The police were, meanwhile, investigating the accident.
Lallan Singh, Additional SP, Gorakhpur, said, "Nearly 16 people have been admitted to hospital with serious injuries. Eighteen people have died in the accident. The maximum brunt was taken by the private bus. It has been badly damaged."
