Lucknow: Even as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav claims that law and order has improved in the state, an officer of his own security was beaten up in front of a police check post in Lucknow. Lucknow’s Hazratganj police say that the men who beat up CO Harendra Singh are not anti-socials, but a senior relationship manager in a real estate company and his friends.
Surprisingly, the area where the CO was beaten up is considered a safe area. The police station is a few steps away and the SSP’S residence and camp office are also located nearby. As the matter involved an officer of the Chief Minister's security, so the police have been very prompt in taking action.
Police have arrested the accused Sajal Sen Gupta, who is the senior relationship manager in a real estate company, and his associate partner Rahul Sharma. However, Sajal Sen Gupta has alleged that the CO had assaulted him. He added that he and his associate had not beaten up the CO. He alleged that the CO was driving a car which hit the motorcycle of his friend. He accused the CO of starting the fight and abusing him.

CO Harendra Singh was reportedly involved in a brawl with some men near a police station in Lucknow.
The matter has become complicated with both the parties levelling allegations against each other. Police officers are under pressure to act as the matter involves an officer of the Chief Minister's security. They have got the CO medically examined but not Sajal and his friend.
