New Delhi: Days after police busted a gang involved in illegal blood trading, they have now seized more blood samples from private nursing homes in Lucknow.
The gang sold blood in regular pouches but with fake government certification. In some cases, patients were even supplied incorrect blood group and animal blood.
Eight members of this gang are still on the run.
Police have recovered more than 70 pouches, syringes, fake stamps and stickers in large quantities.
Circle officer of Alambagh, Subhash Atri says that they will investigate to find out whether the pouches are illegal or not.
"We got some information about the blood pouches in the clinic; so we just checked the authenticity of the haemo-pouches. That is where we started our investigation. We are still awaiting for the CMO's orders. We still cannot say whether these are illegal blood pouches or not," he added.
