Click to play videoNew Delhi: The son of an Additional District Judge in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman in Lucknow.
Amit Bhadauria, son of the Barabanki ADJ and his friend Akhilesh are accused of kidnapping a 40-year-old woman and raping her in their moving vehicle.
The incident took place on Sunday. The two had threatened the woman not to report the crime but she filed an FIR on her family's insistence.
However, Bhadauria - a practicing lawyer - insists the woman was drinking with them through the afternoon.
“We are being framed. If we had to rape the woman, why would we take her to a public place? We dropped her off as she was drunk,” he says.
According to local media reports the victim said she worked as a beautician and visited clients at home.
The incident, she said, occurred when she was returning after visiting a client near Khurram Nagar crossing (in Ghazipur area).
