Lucknow: UP Lokayukta on Thursday dismissed complaint against Chief Minister Mayawati and her close aide Naseemuddin Siddiqui, accusing the Chief Minister of benefiting to the tune of Rs 250 crores in the liquor trade. He said no sufficient evidence was provided against Mayawati.

However, he also added that even if there was an evidence against Mayawati he couldn't act against the Chief Minister since she is out of Lokayukta ambit.

The complaint said that the Chief Minister has benefited to the tune of Rs 250 crores in the liquor trade.

The complaint states that the CM benefited to the tune of Rs 250 crores from her involvement in liquor trade.

Meanwhile, Siddiqui is already being probed by the Lokayukta in a separate case.

The election scene in Uttar Pradesh has been heating up with ministers and political parties trading charges.

Mayawati has been leading the campaign with her 'operation clean up' whereby she sacked a total of 21 ministers from her Cabinet.

The Congress and the BJP labelled it a poll gimmick, calling it an act of desperation.

The Mayawati government has also been facing flak over the NRHM scam and alleged irregularities in the implementation of MNREGA in some districts in the state.
