CRPF terror attack: Police arrest two jawans

New Delhi: Authorities suspect Rampur CRPF camp shooting could have been an insider’s job.

The UP police on Thursday detained two CRPF constables, among eight others, in connection with the attack, UP Director General of Police told CNN-IBN.

All the arrested men have been taken to Lucknow for interrogation.

Terror struck Uttar Pradesh early on January 1, when eight people including six CRPF jawans, a UP police constable and a civilian were killed in a fidayeen attack the CRPF camp in Rampur.

Later, Chief Minister Mayawati announced a compensation of one lakh rupees for the family of each of those killed.

Earlier in the last week of November, intelligence agencies had issued an alert of possible terrorist attack at the CRPF camp in Rampur.
