New Delhi: The murder of Billari village council chief of Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad has been caught on camera.

The village council chief, Sripal, was allegedly shot dead by a fellow villager, in the presence of hundreds of people, on Thursday.

Sripal was reportedly having a dispute with Mahesh Chand, who allegedly shot him dead.

Sripal's wife had also filed a complaint with the District Magistrate against Mahesh.

The villagers had accused Mahesh of stealing electricity and had also complained to the electricity board.

"The accused used to steal electricity. They had laid illegal wires which were hazardous to children and animals," claimed an eyewitness Parveen Sharma.

According to eyewitnesses an enraged Mahesh shot at Sripal, killing him and fled the scene. Police have arrested two people but Mahesh is still absconding.
