Amroha: Violent clashes broke out on Monday in the ruling Samajwadi Party's stronghold of Amroha over an ongoing power crisis.
The police lathicharged some of the protestors who were staging a sit-in at the Hasanpur area.
The mob retaliated by torching several police vehicles as well as trucks, a bus and a car.
The situation is said to be under control now. It's unclear whether there were any injuries or arrests.
Uttar Pradesh is in the grips of a power crisis, considered the worst in recent years.
